Equipping for Discipleship

In God’s word, we are called to make disciples, but many times we are insecure or unaware how to do it. This group is for women who long to be equipped with the truth and tools to encourage growth in relationship to other women on the journey.

Examining what it means to teach and lead others as they grow in Christ can be intimidating. Insecurities arise. We may feel overwhelmed or ill-equipped. We let our insecurities keep us from obedience to Jesus’ command to make disciples and train younger women. The goal of participating in this group is to prepare to become a disciple-maker that pours into other women in God’s truth and grace. When we are equipped, we are empowered to serve. In this growth group, we will study The Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges to equip us with the foundational truths of walking in God’s truth and grace which in turn will help us point others to those truths. Practical tips for building relationships and trust, prayer, suggestions for discipleship resources, teaching guides, understanding of the make-up and culture of different generations, sharing of experience and the crux of the gospel truth are ideas that will be studied and discussed in this equipping process. This is not simply an informational group, we will examine our hearts in the light of God’s truth as well. As we grow as disciples, we are then prepared in humility to love and lead others well.
